Today at Electric Monkey Moving the preferred moving service Boise Idaho has to offer, we are going to discuss the packing process. I got four power tips and a little bit of details to go along with them. Lets get started.
Start Early and Stay Organized
Planning to be organized and organizing a plan is the best action. If you are moving at the end of the month you should start the packing process at the beginning of the month. Always start with your less needed items. Consider packing the least used rooms in your house first or using them to store your packed boxes so they’re out of the way.
Use the Right Packing Materials
Make sure when it comes time for moving you’re using the proper packing materials. Wrap and protect your artwork in artwork specific boxes. Don’t pack canned goods or books in large boxes that will be too heavy to carry. Packing boxes too heavy can cause lots of problems up to an including the box itself failing to hold its integrity. Televisions should always be protected in a carton designed specifically for them. Make sure your glasswares are wrapped in a paper, bubblewrap or equivalent. Packing properly is the easiest way to avoid damages.
Label Everything Clearly
Clearly Labeling your boxes makes everything go smoother. Remember Boise when you’re hiring moving you’re usually paying by the hour. So if you label your boxes well you’ll save a lot of time by the movers being able to easily determine where to put things without asking all the time. Sometimes you can even put sticky notes on door ways or even just on the carpet in places you want furniture. Think of how automated your move can be when your movers just already know where to go and what to do!!
Pack Room by Room for Maximum Efficiency
When you pack room by room you have less random boxes. Things stay more organized and it’s easier to unpack later. This is also makes your rooms easier to live in then you don’t just have cardboard and packing supplies scattered everywhere. This is also plays well with the other categories I talked about earlier.
